I rather enjoyed the movie and I though it was a great treat to see it in 3-D. Little kids, seven and below, would probably be scared by the movie. I read the book when I was in sixth grade (I'm... Full review

Having seen "Journey" and "Bolt" in 3-D, this was not impressive. My son (8) was not scared but rather bored. My daughter (10) was a bit giddy with Miss Fanning's voice, but really cared less for the story. Both are anticipating... Full review

Fun film, good voice acting, stunning visuals. I actually prefer the rougher, claymation-like visual effects to the too-perfect, pixar-esque CG style animation. The story in the film is different from the original Neil Gaiman novel, but I supposed they changed it... Full review

Coraline enjoys a birthday cake.....Coraline has to find her own fun when she's not facing whatever unappetising meal they put in front of her.....Thanks to him, Coraline has a strong (if familiar) premise and some smart ideas..... ... Full Review

Another problem is Coraline herself, conceived by Gaiman as a plucky loner comfortable in her own head.....Indeed, the best scenes are those that rely most on chaotic free association.....Fanning makes her sound like an impatient brat....on the other hand, young or sensitive children could well be given nightmares by some scenes.....Coraline departs further from convention than any Hollywood cartoon in recent memory, and Selick's tendency to overkill isn't always a drawback..... ... The character of Coraline is strong and brave....The movie sugar-coats the wrongness at first, lulling you into the other world that she arrives in (in the book it moves much faster and the evil comes on full-force).....I was thoroughly charmed with the movie (as well as the book) and both stand alone and equal in my humble opinion.....This film is a rare gem, and will enchant older children and adults alike.....Her other mother is charming, a happy homemaker (think 1950s mom with a well-placed mole), who c ... The film's only downfall is....Visually, Coraline is a stunning film.....Don't spoil Coraline by flipping the disc over to the 3D side.....takes an early liking to Coraline and a team of retired actresses, Misses Spink (Jennifer Saunders) and Forcible....It's too bad the commentary didn't include Dakota Fanning and Teri Hatcher..... ... It's enchanting, sad, funny, heartwarming, and hauntingly thrilling.....Coraline is one of the most effective pieces of cinema I've seen in quite some time.....Bad idea or not, Coraline has been itching for a little excitement....The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is just as impressive as the video transfer.....The premise for the story is simple on paper.... ...
