Cheeni Kum' is probably the sauciest, slickest, and most scrumptious romantic comedy you'll see in the Hindi language in a long time.
Cheeni Kum' is a film where the words match the thoughts of the characters so well that you forget someone else wrote the dialogues for the unlikely lovers.

Ideally the film could have been cut short by at least 30 minutes.
Both Bachchan and Tabu are superb throughout the film and demonstrate varying range of emotions as required.
Now let's come to the bright side of the film.

After Nishabd, Bachchan is again in the mood for rolling in romantics with a young girl in Cheeni Kum.
Though their introduction makes the atmosphere bit lighter but the many repetitions in the later part makes it boring and particularly the exaggerated sequence of satyagraha .

Zohra Sehgal is delightful in a performance incredibly feisty for her age.
Her role and her dialogues have been written very beautifully.
Paresh Rawal is certainly not at his near best.

The film's best scenes feature the Big B with the incredibly confident and polished Aman.
The pair just takes over the screen and makes you forget the narrative's all-too-apparent flaws.

Cheeni Kum' is a cleverly written script with lots of moments to keep it going.
Amitabh Bachchan is very good even when the scenes are going all awry like the one at the Qutub Minar in the latter part of the film.

Cheeni Kum' is a contemporary multiplex entertainer where Amitabh Bachchan succeeds in justifying a non-happening "filmi" character with full credibility and thus silence his detractors through a commendable performance.
Cheeni Kum' should not be misconstrued as slapstick entertainer but should be acknowledged as indifferent dramatic effort by a new filmmaker.

The title song "Cheeni Kum " is great, and plays throughout the movie.
Cheeni Kum had been released more than 2 weeks back, but it was fairly busy on the weekends, and I was somewhat busy on the weekends, unable to go see the movie.

Reacting to criticism over naming his seven-year-old protagonist Sexy in Cheeni Kum, director R. Balakrishnan says there is nothing objectionable in it.
The rather precocious and sassy friendship that child actor Swini Khara shares with Amitabh Bachchan in the film has also come in for furious flak.

While most of the technical support the film has is good, the cinematography is brilliant.
The good feel is all pervasive : the script, the execution, the feel the performance, the dialogues - every aspect of the film is simple and yet endearing.
