Chris Rock, Allen Payne, and Deezer D. are way too funny in this gangster rap spoof. And the Charlie Murphy (Charles Q.) role as Gusto is also way tooo funny, long before anyone knew who he was. If you don't take... Full review
This is really funny movie. It's well made in every way. Comedy must be one of the most difficult "art" forms, alongside with horror. It's very well written, the timing is good, actors are good. Full of good ideas. And... Full review

I've heard various stories about CB4, so finally I had the conclusion that I just have to see this piece. CB4 covers all my funny prejudices about the gangsterrap culture, and starts out with a small crew who wants to... Full review

Some of the blame for a film this bad must be laid at the feet of the producers, Brian Grazer and Nelson George.....If you're smart enough to get the satire, it's a joke...." CB4 " is a profoundly confused movie, combining rap music with a satire of the world of rap.....again the film is confused, and doesn't know wether these videos are the real thing, or parody.....Yet other scenes seem to celebrate or exploit the same qualities..... ... Unfortunately, director Tamra Davis doesn't quite seem to have a clue as to how comedy works, and so much of this is so incredibly misogynistic....CB4" is rated R for considerably profanity and vulgarity, along with sex, nudity, violence and drugs..... ... Full Review

Washington Post
In "CB4," rap, at least in its early raw heyday, is already something of a distant phenomenon -- a fad to be looked on with affectionate (and tolerant) nostalgia. The movie begins with a screening of rough footage from a documentary in progress by A. White (a far-from-hip white filmmaker played as a lost and slightly decayed member of the Brady Bunch by Chris Elliott), who has been hired by CB4 to chronicle their history as a group. ... CB4 is nowhere as incisive or as clever as Spinal Tap , even....Nothing in CB4 is memorable or groundbreaking.....As a series of ocasionally-amusing vignettes, CB4 is is fitfully entertaining.....However, when everything is tied together into a cohesive whole, this movie is a colossal mess..... ...
