The writing in this movie is very weak.
Yun-Fat Chow does well in his role as the nameless monk.
It falls to him to give an air of credibility to Seann William Scott, who up to now has played goofball characters.

Bulletproof Monk is most enjoyable if accepted for the light-weight comic-book fantasy it purports to be.

Its not impossible to guess why producers Terence Chang and John Woo might think Paul Hunter was a good choice to direct Bulletproof Monk .
But for the most part, the resulting movie, adapted from the Flypaper Press comic book, doesnt look slick and kind of burnished (like the video), but looks haphazard and silly, like its been assembled from fragments of other movies, with scant attention to sense.
