Based on Blind Harry's epic poem "The Wallace, I'm sure, this movie inspires anyone to don a kilt and hate the English. But wait one second- Scots didn't wear kilts until the 16th century (according to historians, who weren't there), and... Full review

No, it isn't really for any personal relationships or for any serious character development that one admires "Braveheart.....The scenes of mass carnage involving thousands of men are bloody and brutal, yet the filmmakers choreograph them with an almost balletic grace.....Scene-stealing Patrick McGoohan ("Secret Agent," "The Prisoner") plays Edward brilliantly, making Edward the perfect villain, a butcher willing to sacrifice any number of his own men to maintain his power..... ... With Gibson it's like having him sitting next to you on the couch, enjoying the movie right along with you....The movie struggled at first, with only small audiences in attendance.....Some lines are so impressive they're practically legend.....Between the lack of accuracy and graphic violence, there are plenty of reasons to complain about the movie....And then, given the intense violence and nearly three-hour running time, it takes a bit of courage to sit through the movie as well..... ...
