To start, don't believe the running time on the back. This shouldn't even really be considered a movie, just a mere short film. It's about 45 minutes in length but not bad for what it is. The storyline, though slightly done... Full review

I really enjoyed this film, but the ending seemed abrupt or unfinished. There was no character development. It was a very good movie, but it felt like the pilot episode of a series that never got a second episode.... Full review

One of the best animated movies I have seen in a long time. The fact that it was told from two points of view, third person at the begining and first person at the end, was very interesting. At the end... Full review

The animation in this movie was truly great! The violence and blood effects worked just right to make this movie a true action/horror movie! The one thing that dissappointed me was that I paid 30 dollars for a movie that lasted... Full review

this movie was better than I imagined it would be. I saw it with my Uncle last year and it really inspired me. I liked the story and the violence. That was good. I also liked the fact that the visuals... Full review

This anime could have been more spectacular, if it had a more longer running time in it's story. Everything else was perfect.... Full review

This movie is wonderful. Even though it is short, it didn't really need anything else. Mamarou Oshii and his team did a wonderful job at simplifying a potentially aspiring story into great characters and great animation. At first i wondered... Full review

I really enjoyed 'Blood'. Though, it was rather short in its running time, the time spent was worthwhile. The story moves along at a fast pace introducing Saya at the Train Station killing another vampire who had yet to change... Full review

Blood: The Last Vampire is still well worth seeing Which brings us to Blood: The Last Vampire --which is one of the greatest and most tragically flawed anime films I've ever encountered. ... Full Review

Technically brilliant, visually stunning, and best of all, thought-provoking, this anime from the producers of Ghost in the Shell is precisely the standard to which all adult-oriented animation should rightfully aspire. In most films, cartoon or otherwise, a carefully explained backstory seems as obligatory as the establishing shot, but director Hiroyuki Kitabubo opts here to drop a few hints and leave it to the audience to fill in the gaps. ... In others, it succeeds.....Besides a lack of explanation for the going-ons, Blood also lacks personality.....The animation is spectacular and well-done.....In 45 minutes, the movie has given us great animation, nice background, and little else.....The background animation is so nicely detailed.... ... As red, the color of blood, shows up so well on camera, filmmakers return to vampire lore to indulge in visual fetishes. In a sense, "Blood" is its own worst enemy--the terse, tense atmosphere rejects viewers as much as it attracts attention for its distinctive evocation of a different world. ... Full Review

While certainly not the first anime film to combine traditional hand-drawn animation and computer generated effects (Blue Submarine comes to mind), Blood: The Last Vampire is still quite stunning. Summary: With terrific picture and sound quality, Blood: The Last Vampire is definitely recommended to fans of Japanese anime. ... Full Review
