Mel Brooks knows that when a brick is thrown, "Everybody" duck. He has the knack to make everyone realize, you must learn how to laugh at yourself, then you learn the ability to laugh at others. If everyone took that approach... Full review

great western spoof by mel brooks. funny material packed anywhere and perfect timing. like most comedies they usually don't have a story, but nevertheless a story of lower caliber. if you like spaceballs (and other spoofs), you'll like this western spoof.... Full review

Absolutely AWFUL. The plot is mind numbingly dull. The so- called "humor" is arcane, stale, crude and completely unoriginal. It's an absolute insult to anyone's intelligence or sensibilities. A shameful film, and an embarassment to movie cinema. Let's pray no copies... Full review

DeLuise was funny, and a class act.....Actor Dom DeLuise, who died Monday, went well above and beyond the call of duty and any reasonable expectations a couple of years ago.....For my money, as a matter of fact, his brief cameo in "Blazing Saddles" is the best performance EVER in a Mel Brooks movie..... ... Mel Brooks likes to look at stereotypes from a humorous standpoint....Thompson, there are many characteristics of Blazing Saddles that fit it into the Classic Hollywood Film genre....the plot is not near as important as the satirical humor..... ... Full Review
