At a time when films like "Page 3", "Black" and even a much-vilified film like "Sins" tries to take our cinema beyond the mundane, "Bewafaa" tries to pull it back into the stone age.
The director's obsession with eye-catching surfaces gets in the way of the cast's most honest wishes - whatever they might be.

O ne of the very few things Bewafaa does well is expose the movie-going world to the slick Indian subway train system by setting a potentially confrontational scene on New Delhi's spiffy new Metro.
Sadly, this lasts but a couple of moments before he too tamely relents.

Bewafaa is simply unfaithful when it comes to providing entertainment.....The proceedings of the film fail to connect with the audience and at the end there isn't a single scene....Chalo ghar chal kar Bollywood film ki taraf ji bhar ke rote hai (Come lets move home and cry heartily like in a Bollywood film)''.....However his sincerity, like always, is marred by a weak storyline.....another point where Darshan fails is that his screenplay lacks conviction..... ... Kabir Bedi is, like always, extremely efficient.....He hams and irritates to the hilt!....Sushmita Sen is first-rate in a brief role.....Dialogues [Dharmesh Darshan, Raj Sinha] are poetic at times and straight out of life at places.....This is Kareena's film all the way and the talented actress knows how to absorb a meaty role like this..... ... Only Akshay Kumar provides a little respite in this barrage of idiocy....you yawn through a good part of the movie, and see your neighbor do the same.....Even if we excuse the soppy dialogues, the story is so very predictable and the characterizations so blatantly poor....Magar aaj ke zamane main yeh saari baatein outdated ho chuki hai wisecracks Akshay at the end of this movie..... ...
