When I heard about the movie getting an A-, I thought it was a fantastic movie. But when I watched it, I felt like crying because the movie was crap like hell... Even a flop indian movie was better to watch... Full review

Showtime on Demand provided this gem of a film for us. We really had not heard of it but when we saw who the actors were ... it was time to press the play button of On Demand. We were not... Full review

I was expecting a great crime drama but saw a lot of repetition and was stretched out about 20-30 minutes too long. The acting was great, so was almost everything else, but just not my cup of tea. The cast is... Full review

This movie is grim, grim, grim. It is not black comedy -- it contains no shred of comedy at all. These two brothes are pathetic in different ways, and so desperate for money they are willing to do anything, and do.... Full review

I expected more- the direction was second rate. It was nice to see Marissa Tomei's cans and to see her getting nailed from behind was a surprise. Other than that, just ho hum considering the cast.... Full review

This is London
Hoffman, as usual, is extraordinarily convincing as the instigator of the heist who seems to know it all but is still totally unaware that his wife ( Marisa Tomei , as undressed as we have ever seen her) is having an affair with his younger brother. But all the actors in this sweaty tale of broken dreams and misjudged plans have their moments - even Finney in an underwritten part that simply requires him to look desperate and furious. ... Even if you think the plot is a little implausible, and you're worn out by the grand tragedy of it all, you can't deny that the actors aren't giving it everything they've got. What's great about this movie is how it meticulously, like clockwork, throws tiny amounts of doom at its characters until it's a crushing mountain that they can't escape. ... Full Review

Ethan Hawke has the less showy part by comparison but he's equally good and there's also strong support from both Albert Finney and Marisa Tomei, who seems to have suddenly decided to experiment with nudity. Impressively directed by Sidney Lumet (he's 83, you know), this is a thoroughly gripping thriller with a strong script and terrific performances from its two leads. ... Full Review
