Just about every British actor then alive (except for Sean Connery) appears in this star studded film. But the real stars are the airplanes and the extensive air battle scenes. Unfortunately the musical score is not in sync with the actions,... Full review

The aerial scenes are some of the best you'll see in a war movie, no digital effects here. Historically accurate to a high degree, most people not familiar with the period and the "Britain stands alone" attitude of the time will... Full review

Yes, it's old. It's long. It's fairly tedious. I'm not sure I've ever sat through the entire film in one go. But as one of my father's favorites, this film has been one worthy of memorization. And you can't teach monkeys... Full review

But two are crystal clear about the battle that turned the tide in a war that Britain seemed likely to lose.
Their stories have no beginning and no end and the lack of human interaction may account for the film's failure.

While the video quality isn't wholly consistent from start to finish, I was frequently startled by how wonderful Battle of Britain looked in high definition, and that's the best I can hope for in any Blu-ray disc.
Battle of Britain lifts its title from one of the most engaging chapters of World War II, but it feels more like a hollow spectacle than a harrowing wartime drama.
