The fringe characters (e.g Bipasha's giggly saheli and Bobby's turbaned sidekick) are stereotypes that belong to an outdatedtime....Suneel Darshan's vision encompasses the best of mainstream Hindi cinema.....And yet to deny the archaic magnetism of Barsaat is to deny the most renewable traditions of Hindi cinema.....the saturated background score (Salim-Suleiman) would like us to hearbeyond the shrill clarioin call of a shehnai....she lifts many of the most mundane moments in this oldfashioned, at-times qua ... The film has major flaws that seem unpardonable in the age of modern cinema.
The film lacks fire.
Bobby Deol looks good and seems to have put in an effort.
Bipasha looks alluring in some scenes and vampish in the others.

But alas, that's not the case with 'Barsaat' as the story of the film is so predictable and the execution such ultra-dramatic that you want to tear your hair in frustration, especially in the second half.
That's the feeling you get half through the screening of a 'cliched love story' called 'Barsaat' that was tagged as a 'sublime story story'.

This is the second best track of 'Barsaat'.
In between we have Priyanka Chopra's husky and sexy voice mouthing couplets (which will be greeted with claps in the actual movie) like "Muskurati hai Nazar, Dil tadap ke rota hai, Aur chot jab lagti hai, Uff dard bada hota hai" and "Hum hanste hain to unhe lagta hai ki hamen aadat hai muskurane ki, Par woh nadaan itna bhi nahin samajhte, Yeh ada hai gham chupane ki.

But there is more as the song, an excellent romantic duet enthralls the listener with the fantastic mukhda "Barsaat ke din aaye, Mulaqat ke din aaye, Hum soch mein the jinke, Us raat ke din aaye.
As we have said on previous occasions too, Nadeem-Shravan always reserve their best for the Darshans' and the first track 'Barsaat Ke Din Aaye' substantiates our claims, because as soon as Kumar Sanu starts off with his trademark "He he he he he he...

Barsaat' story has shades from 'Andaaz' as one of two beloved sacrifices herself for true love.
Barsaat' is story of small town intelligent and over ambitious boy Arav Kapoor (Bobby Deol).
