Fans of mindless action flicks!....I was hoping for brainless, silly action and Vin Diesel is usually pretty good about that.....Right now my demographic consists of slaves to action flicks and zombies.....Heck, I enjoyed Diesel in Babylon A.D. and that movie was a vastly confused wreck of converging, convoluted plotlines.....Walker's main character flaw is his utter lack of Vin Dieselosity or, more simply, his un-Vinness..... ... Mathieu Kassovitz is making a determined challenge for the stylish French sci-fi thriller crown of Luc Besson with this highly effective, highly charged action movie....This is a top cast, with Vin Diesel excelling as the outlaw mercenary whose survival code is simply 'kill or be killed'.....But the pluses easily outweigh the minuses, and even truncated, the story is strong and interesting enough to keep us engaged.....Stupendous action scenes in a post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe (filmed in pre-apocalyptic ... If you can get past the pretensions of the guy (sunglasses during an interview, oddly greasy "I am cool" hair) he actually gives some interesting background about the story.....The interview however actually left me feeling like his story must have started at the exact moment the film most oddly ends..... ... The film adaptation, "Babylon A.D.," was famously trampled by its own director who claimed that Fox tampered with the production all throughout shooting, never letting him shoot a scene the way he wanted.
Babylon A.D." is sure to whet the appetite of some sci-fi/action fanatics, but the film is simply too dumb and too unoriginal for it's own good.

Babylon A.D. looks great on Blu-ray
While parts of the movie might be confusing
The movie holds your interest from start to finish, but gets bogged down by its own story and the limited performances of its cast.
Diesel is stiff in the movie

Babylon A.D." is immensely more watchable on Blu-Ray....Diesel's half-asleep, apathetic performance in the sci-fi action flick "Babylon A.D." is only one of the problems with a film that was ignored in theaters....it's a good mix that complements the film well.....Everything about the story of "Babylon A.D." feels derivative of better films and the dialogue is simply awful..... ... Both dark and light scenes are rock solid.....a film this bad looked so good.....The visuals of "Babylon A.D." are quite good....The action sequences suffer from caring far more about being grandiose than being entertaining....What is unfortunate about "Babylon A.D." is the production values and the cast that were wasted on this picture..... ... The film works better without it....though it's a shame so much money was wasted in an extravagant action set-piece not needed to begin with.....While not providing as sharp as movements as the fight scenes, this gun battle....Aside from these grain spikes, the transfer seems to fit the director's intent of transitioning from a pale.... ... Having just sat through the mind-numbing "Max Payne" the night before viewing this atrocity, I didn't really think a movie could be as badly done and overly produced but, boy, was I mistaken; "Babylon A.D." is just horrible from beginning to end.
Aurora is played by a young French actress named Melanie Thierry and she is absolutely breath-takingly gorgeous.

Ultimately that's what you're left with in Babylon A.D. ; uninspired production values, repetitive and unoriginal storytelling, with a certain lackadaisical attitude by all involved.
Or at least as much as one with Diesel's acting talents could.
