I love Sam Mendes; I'll say that now. What else do I love? Comedies with indie quirk. And that leads me to Away We Go, a film that embodies the genre completely as evidenced by the trailer with its awkward laughs,... Full review

In Billy Bragg's "Must I Paint You A Picture", everybody's favorite Cockney-accented socialist folksinger warbles, "The most important decisions in life are made between two people in bed," and Verona DeTessant(Maya Rudolph), an artist, paints... I wish that this movie was worse, because then it might not have been so annoying to watch. It was just weirdly bad. It made no sense that anyone would confuse cobbling with whittling, or that someone would think that was... Full review

This was a major disappointment, even when I forget that I wasted the rare babysitter/night out to go see it. I am the audience for this kind of vehicle (arty/idealist/willing to relocate for hipster/"authentic" quality of life...and I'm a parent like... Full review

Away We Go itself is actually quite adept at depicting that exact emotion.....and-30-somethings, a certain portion of which, of course, hate nothing more than a movie trying to entertain them....Rudolph gives a particularly lovely, subtle performance, layering her fear, exasperation, and love.....There are some stereotypically indie distractions, like Alexi Murdoch's folky, same-sounding song score....Even more interesting, some of the best scenes between Rudolph and Krasinski were, per the commentary, adde ...
