But the film succeeds in going beyond the routine romantic rituals associated with films about forbidden love.....if she wasn't dressed wrongly for the part of a brutal man's mistress.....Mrinalini Sharma could've done better....The scenes between Hashmi and his master's mistress will remind you of Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in Koyla and also Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena in Refugee .....Among the two leading ladies who form a before-and-after axis in the taut plot, Shreya Saran's freshness and express ... Mohit Suri , who has by now learnt the ropes of filmmaking well with movies like Zeher , Kalyug and Woh Lamhe , comes with a fairly watchable film 'Awarapan'.....Mrinalini Sharma overacts in certain scenes, but manages to play her part fairly well on the whole.....On the whole, 'Awarapan' is worth watching once.....If anything, 'Awarapan' showcases the acting talent of Emraan Hashmi.....The cinematography is visually appealing and the music (by Pritam) is also good..... ... If one has a close look at the plot of AWARAPAN, it is not just about good v/s evil, love v/s hatred or freedom v/s entrapment. A vulnerable young man who has to choose between the ladder towards success and his friend, his character takes various shades right till the end.Purab Kohli as Rana's drug-addict nephew is a delight to watch every time he appears on screen. ... Frankly, you need to have a strong stomach to absorb a film like Awarapan . The film is dark, serious and violent. This film is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Pritam's musical score is refreshing. Choosing an interesting story is difficult. ... Full Review
