Picture and audio are fine in all respects.....Assassination of a High School President has solid commercial potential for a picture with a first-time director, Brett Simon.....the few audiences to see it projected on a screen were surely impressed by its smart cinematography.....The so-so cover art doesn't help this entertaining comedy stand out from the competition..... ... These two actors make the movie worth seeing, even though the script by Tim Caplan and Kevin Jakubowski veers from genuine wit to more routine high jinks.
Director Brett Simon must be credited with an energetic spin on a lot of tired tropes.

Those behind the film plan to make some small tweaks before its August release, and it seems like a tiny bit of streamlining could yield an instant classic.
After the president's sexy girlfriend (Barton) and unscrupulous buddies befriend him, Funke begins to smell something unpleasant - and it's not just because the kid who sits behind him in Spanish class farted in his face.

Still, "Assassination of a High School President" is a welcome addition to the genre and with a better....The film's biggest detriment is....Brett Simon's clever high school noir debut is more "Heathers" than John Hughes....After this movie, he should also be the envy of 90% of the male population due to his make-out scenes with Barton.....The great thing is that experienced adult actors never hog the glory from the kids..... ...
