But Apne has its share of shortcomings as well.....Himesh Reshammiya's music is a complete letdown.....he's a magnificent actor.....Ideally, the film should've had a concise format of 2.15 hours, instead of 2.54 hours.....The narrative only gets more absorbing when the focus shifts to the boxing ring and the opponent (Luca) steps into the picture..... ... Apne is definitely what Reshammiya is capable of when he puts his soul in all the departments of his music.
Himesh Reshammiyas loud voice simply does not fit although he seems to try his very best while Akriti Kakkar lacks the vibrant effect in her voice.

Kirron Kher is superb yet again.
Divya Dutta is wasted.

The movie has been captured pretty well, both the green lush fields of Punjab as well as the streets of New York have been shown beautifully to the viewers by cinematographer Kabir Lal.
The music by Himesh Reshammiya is good in patches.
