Amazing Grace indeed! I never knew that one man would dare stand up against a HUGE country (England) to end the Slave Trade. If you get bored easily, this will actually make you think of a different person's point of view,... Full review

The story of William Wilberforce is told in such a powerfully moving way through this movie and through the talents of Ioan Gruffudd, Albert Finney, Benedict Cumberbatch, and the rest of the cast. It is so poignant and reflective, teaching the... Full review

Snooty, English head-piece canlde-light boring move. It takes a really boring path to show a really boring perspective of the negatives of the slave trade. One of the most boring movies ever.... Full review

This is a powerful movie which may move you to tears. The most pleasant surpise from this movie was the brilliant dialogue which is so hard to find in modern movies. The very period set designs and costumes were nicely complimented... Full review

This is one of the best movies we've seen in the past few years, as it portrays actual history without spinning, and allows today's people to appreciate not only what Wilberforce did to end slavery, but appreciate the character of the... Full review

This is an intelligent film about serious thinkers and their ideas, and it's director Michael Apted's spare, incisive vison that prevents the film from becoming either cloying or maudlin, though the screen is painted with emotion. The cast is the best British sterling and all of them at the top of their game, particularly Rufus Sewell as an inconclastic preacher who is a mix of wry intellect, flyaway hair, and cranky impatience to change the world; a garrolous and guilt-ridden Albert Finney as John Newton, ...
