While imaginative and occasionally quite spectacular, owning "Alien Planet" on DVD will probably only appeal to your inner science geek. Based on science-fiction writer/illustrator Wayne D. Barlowe's "Expedition," Discover Channel's "Alien Planet" is a hypothetical and imaginative look into the not so distant future, where human technology (in particular artificial intelligence) has advanced to the point where intelligent probes can be sent into the depths of space in search of alien life. ... The CG animation is consistently crisp and beautiful, thereby allowing Alien Planet to become just as entertaining without the technical jargon as it is with.....peek into what beasts just might live on a planet six light-years away, Alien Planet is more than cool enough to keep the sci-fi geeks (like me) entertained.....the picture quality is pretty damn dazzling.....and odds are you'll have a geeky good time with Alien Planet ..... ...
