I enjoyed meeting Alfie again.....He is Alfie, that cocky, handsome devil, whose life philosophy is women and women.....His Alfie is flirtatious, dashing, cheeky and in a word -....And while it's hard to replicate the pathos of the original, the very handsome Jude Law makes the remake eminently watchable..... ... I enjoyed meeting Alfie again.
Hence, when Alfie gets his comeuppance, we don't feel for him as much as we would like.
And while it's hard to replicate the pathos of the original, the very handsome Jude Law makes the remake eminently watchable.

There is a part that shows how and why characters from the old Alfie were updated and revamped for the remake, which is perhaps the only reason why this DVD is worth renting.
This 2004 remake of the '66 version is not worth the trouble to rent.
