This movie was based on a true story, and if the makers had stuck closer to the true story it could have been a much better movie. But no, they had to Hollywoodize it and dumb it down so that... Read more
It is a good movie based on MIT smart students who are brought together by a MIT professor to play blackjack and make lots of moeny. They are good at card counting and use some strategies to make lots of money as a team in Vegas. It is based on the book "Bringing Down the House " and is really good to watch. I enjoyed this movie every bit- especially since I am a blackjack fan myself I liked the way it was directed. It seemed to be simple and had a lotttttt of realism. One of the students joins the team of students since the professor find him to be a genius at math and fast at counting. He does not want to do it initially- he is an ideal student but he agrees since he has to pay for med school. If you want to watch a realistic movie with a good story, I would really recommend this.

Slick camera work and some good performances rev up the technical quality of this fact-based story about a 21 year old MIT student named Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) who, along with his brainy Ivy League chums, travels to Vegas to... Read more

I had the really cool opportunity to see an advance screening of "21" tonight. Having read the book when it first came out, I was a bit skeptical about whether it would translate well. I couldn't have been more pleased.... Read more
I was intrigued by the preview of 21 because I'm a sucker for films about gambling, and this is a film about gambling ~ it's the director/writers gambling with our intelligence, hoping we're completely devoid of brainpower, which would make... Read more
