On the whole, 1971 is a well-made film with an excellent second half as its trumpcard.
Well researched and painstakingly captured on celluloid, 1971 is a brave effort by all counts.
It's a gripping, disturbing and powerful film.

There is just the right build up to the tale and where Amrit Sagar succeeds well is making the second half of 1971 a really gripping fare.
Even though the film is not mounted extravagantly, it is to the credit to director Amrit Sagar that he makes best use of the available resources and doesn't cut corners when it comes to telling a scene efficiently and effectively.

For its last 30 minutes alone, 1971 may just be worth a watch after all.
With a sharper eye looking over the film, 1971 could have turned out a gut-wrenching drama that questions our apathy towards a still-very-relevant issue.

In '1971' these actors change themselves drastically to play these characters.
You can feel thier pain because they present their characters so well on the screen.
