Overall, an enjoyable little comedy that's "believable" when you wouldn't expect it to be.....That leads to a bunch of "politically (& socially) incorrect" efforts on his part, which results in some good situational humor, very well handled by ZAC (who continues to show himself to be really talented as an actor beyond in singing & dancing).....As played by THOMAS LENNON , he has the right "moves" in things like hitting on the school principal.... ... We love a good body-swap movie.....Also, every time you select one of the extras, you get the same completely weird, not-so-special shot of Zac Efron and Thomas Lennon before the selection starts.....Despite its played-out storyline, 17 Again is surprisingly refreshing in the looks department.....it's a nice surprise.... ... fulfilling its intended role as a cute teen flick with witty one-liners, almost all of the dialogue falls short....By all accounts, 17 Again should be a fine movie to sit back, in hollow-shell-of-a-human being mode, and mindlessly enjoy.....With Leslie Mann, Zac Efron, Mathew Perry, Thomas Lennon, and Melora Hardin all cast, I expected the film to be, at its least, just as good as, say, What a Girl Wants ..... ... Guaranteed to lift your spirits, make you laugh and charm your socks off, this body switch comedy is wild, wacky and wonderful.....Lennon's self-professed dork Ned is the big scene stealer as he shamelessly woos Melora Hardin's stitched up School Principal Jane Masterson (the restaurant scene when they speak Elvish over red wine is inspired - and when Ned dons a cloak of invisibility so no-one can see him, the ridiculous and the heartfelt morph into one).....Jason Filardi's script is darned clever, taking a ... It's the charisma of Zac Efron....The film begs to be funny....bails out a problematic storyline.....Lackluster acting bleeds through, but it's not too much of a problem.... ... Full Review

although he too puts on a fine performance, such characters have by now become clichéd and nearly unwelcome.....The only slam-dunks are a well-selected cast of MILF-ishly pretty ladies and dialogue that are at least worth a nod....It's the charisma of Zac Efron....bails out a problematic storyline.....Lackluster acting bleeds through, but it's not too much of a problem.... ... He possesses a charm, a mystique, and overall worthy performance in his not so perfect film.....Twenty years later, he's about to be divorced, sleeps in his wealthy best friend's (played by Thomas Lennon who is downright hysterical) spare room, his kids hate him....Although I found the movie enjoyable (perhaps because my 10-year-old cousin was with me), I much preferred what Zac brought to the film-spunk, attitude, class, and most importantly, talent.....He shoots, he scores-it's what Zac Efron does best in ...
