This is one great fright flick.....[REC] is no only one of the best horror films of 2008, it is perhaps the best example of the "found footage" genre ever.....they pale in comparison to the top notch special effects offered.....As our guide through this heinous hell on Earth, Manuela Velasco is pitch perfect as Angela Vidal.....The rest of the cast is good as well.... ... It's a plague bug gone cuckoo, and one reason the film works so well is because pretty Vidal changes from a hungry young reporter stuck in a program no one watches (even the firemen have never heard of it) to a journalist determined to mine every awful trauma and reaction from the increasingly traumatized victims. ...
