Sean Penn Biography

Sean Justin Penn is an Academy Award-winning American film actor and director, known for playing intense and unsympathetic characters. He was awarded an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in Mystic River. Penn has also been nominated for three other Academy Awards in recognition of his roles in I Am Sam, Sweet and Lowdown and Dead Man Walking. In 2004, Penn was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is also well-known for his political activism.
